To sew the flying geese units place a Color 7 2"
square right sides together on one end of a Color 1 rectangle with
outside edges aligned. On the back of the square draw in the diagonal,
then sew ON this drawn line. Cut off the excess seam allowance,
pressing the remainder towards the corner. repeat this with another
Color 7 square on the other end. Trim this unit back to measure
2" x 3-1/2" if needed. Repeat this with all the Color 1, 2
& 3 rectangles to make four flying geese units of each...

Sew three geese together as shown at left with Color 1 on the bottom,
Color 2 next up, and Color 3 at the top. Make four units like this...

In the same manner that we made the flying geese units, sew four Color
1 2" squares to the corners of the Color
7 3-1/2" square Trim this unit back to measure 3-1/2"
if needed...

Sew four corner units as shown at left, using the standard scant
1/4" seam allowance. Top row = Color 6,5 & 4 from left to
right. Middle row = Color 5, 4 & 3. Bottom row = Color 4, 3 &
2. Trim this unit back to measure 5" square if needed. Make four
units like this...
