This makes a 12" block and is paper pieced, with the option of regular piecing!

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try The Chinese Quilt Block! You will need to print out four copies of the PP template page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. You also need one 4-1/2" cream square!   Fat quarters should be plenty!

After your units have been paper pieced, sew them together as shown at left, with the extra 4-1/2" cream square as the block's center unit! Good Job!

Here are nine blocks sewn as three banners!
