Now piece the half squares in the combinations shown at left. You need twenty-four of each combination. Press seams towards the darker fabrics...

 

Then piece your half squares as shown at left...you will need four of each arrangement...

 

 

From the units made in the previous step, piece four each of the combinations at left...

 

 

 

Now piece the whole block. Row one needs a 6-1/2" square, a half square unit, a Color 3 rectangle, the reverse half square unit, and another 6-1/2" square. The middle row is made by first combining the side units: one half square unit, a Color 3 rectangle, the reverse half square unit. Make two of these, and sew one to either side of the center unit. Row 3 is the same as Row 1...
