The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Stashbuster Block! You will need to print out one copy of the template page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper.

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

For each block you'll need four different  1-7/8" squares cut  in half as shown top left. You only need four of the resulting half square triangles, Save the others for another block! Cut the Color 3 1-7/8" x 3-3/4" strip into two 1-7/8" squares and cut these in half once diagonally to make the four star points...

Sew the random colored half square triangles and the Color 3 half square triangles together using a 1/4" seam. Press seam to darker side. This should measure 1-1/2" square. Make four units like this using Color 3 paired with four different other colors...

Now sew the blocks' upper right corner unit by sewing together five randomly colored 1-1/2" squares, and the four half squares we just made...

Sew the block's lower left unit by joining five rows of five 1-1/2" squares. Paper piece the two side units. Now sew two horizontal rows. Join these and the block is complete!
