** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |

Use the template provided to cut eight trapezoids from the Color 3 6" x 14" rectangle--be sure four are cut in reverse ... |

Now cut the Color 2 and Color 4 3-1/4" x 9-3/4" strips into three 3-1/4" squares of each. Stack them and cut twice on the diagonal to make twelve quarter square triangles of each. Sew these together in pairs using a 1/4" seam allowance. Press each to the darker side... |

Then cut the Color 1 and Color 4 2-7/8" x 5-3/4" strips into two 2-7/8" squares of each. Stack these and cut them once on the diagonal to make four half square triangles of each. Sew them together in pairs to make four half squares, pressing seams to the darker sides...now let's assemble this puppy!... |

Start by sewing the trapezoids together in pairs as shown at left, stopping 1/4" from the inner "V". Reinforce there with an extra stitch. Make four of these. Press seam to one side. Add the pieced triangles to the traps as shown at left, and in that order. Do this with each trap unit...on to Page 2! |
