This wall or couch quilt, as shown below will be about 41" x 49"...You can expand it, or make it smaller, by rearranging units! A traditional block, in an original setting!

The stars are part paper piecing, part regular piecing!

You will be making three different sizes of the same star patterns, following the same construction techniques for each size.

This is an original quilt pattern. Please abide by the Terms and Conditions of use!  

 

 

For each Large sized star, you will need one strip 3 1/2" x 14". Mark and cut these apart to make four 3 1/2" squares. You will also need one 6 1/2" center square of your star fabric. (not shown)...and for paper piecing, four approx. 7" x 3 1/2" rectangles of your background fabric, and four approx. 4" squares of star fabric cut in half diagonally. (also not shown)

 

After your paper piecing is done, piece the stars as shown at left, using the background squares, the center square, and the flying geese units. Sew these with all 1/4" seams. Press seam allowances in alternating directions....

For the Medium stars  you will need one strip 2-3/4" x 11" strip cut into four 2-3/4" squares, one 5" center square, and for paper piecing,  four approx. 3" x 5-1/2" rectangles of background fabric, and four approx. 3" squares of star fabric cut in half diagonally...

For the Small stars you will need one  2" x 8" strip cut into four 2" squares, one 3-1/2" center square, and for paper piecing, four approx. 3-1/2" x 2-1/4" rectangles of background fabric, and four approx. 2-1/4" squares of star fabric cut in half diagonally...on to Page 2
