Then do the same, but with a Color 1 and Color 2 triangle and a Color 3 half square triangle, and make TWO of each of those!...

To make the center block, align a Color 4  3-1/2" square on the top left corner of your Color 5 6-1/2" square. Mark a line on the diagonal, in the direction shown and sew ON this line. Trim off the excess, and press seam allowance towards small triangle, then add another Color 4 3-1/2 " square to the opposite corner, in the same manner...

Be sure to refer to the diagram at left for placement of squares, especially the 3-piece squares! Make sure the light triangle is always to the outside! Now let's piece the block, which gets pieced in columns. Column one is made of one Color 1 3-1/2" square/ one Color123unit/one Color 124unit/another Color 1 3-1/2" square. The CENTER column is made of  a Color 123unit hitched to a Color 124unit...and this combination unit is joined to both the top and the bottom of the center unit. Column three is the same as column one. Join the columns, remembering to alternate pressing directions by row and that's it!!  :o)     TA DA!! ...on to Page 3!
