Here's an easy one!...just half squares!...and it can be done in any size at all that is evenly divisible by 2! To speed piece masses of half squares, cut fabric strips half the finished desired width of your border, plus 7/8" for seam allowances. Stack the two colored strips right sides together, and on the back of the top strip, lightly mark the square lines (whatever size you wanted your half squares to be, ie... 2-7/8", 3-7/8" etc...whatever the width of your strips!)...then mark the diagonals as shown at left, and sew 1/4" above and below the marked diagonals, pivoting at the square lines. Cut apart on the square lines, and on the diagonals between the lines of stitching. This will give you twice as many half squares as you had squares. Press the seams towards the darker fabric.  Sew four half squares together to make one pinwheel...

...and  sew the pinwheels together to make the border!

EXAMPLE: a strip 2-7/8" x 17-1/4 would result in twelve 2-7/8" half squares EXAMPLE: a strip 3-7/8" x 23-1/4 would result in twelve 3-7/8" half squares

Here's one that Karlene made!
