and Sewing the Block ** |

Start by marking and cutting the Color 1 2-1/2" x
17-1/2" strip into seven 2-1/2" squares...

Then mark and cut the Color 2 2-1/2" x 17-1/2" strip
into seven 2-1/2" squares...

Now mark and cut the Color 3 5" x 17-1/2" strip into
fourteen 2-1/2" squares...

Mark and cut one Color1and Color 2 2-7/8" x
5-3/4" strips and two Color 3 2-7/8" x
5-3/4" strips (only one shown here) into two 2-7/8" squares of each.(...so
four of Color 3) Stack these
and cut once on the diagonal to make four half square triangles of
each (eight of Color 3!)...

Sew pairs of half square triangles together to make four each in a
Color 1/Color 3 combination, and four each in a Color 2/Color 3
combination. Use all scant 1/4" seams. Press seams to the darker
side, and trim these back to measure 2-1/2" if needed...

Now, sew together six block rows as shown at left, using scant
1/4" seams, and pressing in alternating directions by row. Sew
the rows together to finish your block! ...on to Page
