Old King Cole's Crown - Page 2

Then sew one Color 3 half square triangle to the right side of a Color 3  3-1/2" square. Make just one of that unit. Sew a Color 3 triangle to the left side of another Color 3  3-1/2"  square, and another to the right of that same square. Make two units like this. Then sew a Color 3 triangle to the left side of the last Color 3 square, and only make one of those units...

Now sew the first Color 3square/Color3 triangle unit to the second unit made in the previous step, right sides together, using 1/4" seams, and pressing seam towards the bottom unit...

Add another of the second Color3square/Color3 triangle units to the bottom of the one you just made, again pressing towards the bottom unit...

Then add the last Color 3square/Color 3 triangle unit to the bottom, again pressing towards the bottom addition. Set this aside for now...

Next sew the Color 1  3-1/2" square to a Color 5  3-1/2" square, right sides together. Add a Color 2 half square triangle to the left of that unit, pressing both seams towards the center square...

Now sew a Color 2 triangle to the left side of another Color 5  3-1/2" square. Sew the last Color 2 triangle to the bottom of that same square, as shown at left. Press these seams towards the triangles...

Sew the two units we just made together, pressing seam towards the top...on to Page 3!
