** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Starting with Color 1, and using your trusty rotary cutter, cut the 5-1/4" x 10-1/2" strip into two 5-1/4" squares...

ohiocutcolor1triangles.gif (4296 bytes) Cut these in half on the diagonal, being careful not to stretch your fabrics, and then cut those resultant triangles again on the diagonal. This will give you eight quarter square triangles...

From Color 2, cut one 4-1/2" square to be your center square.

Next, cut the Color 3  4-1/2" strip into four 4-1/2" squares, to be the blocks four corners...

Then cut the Color 3  5-1/4" x 10-1/2" strip into two 5-1/4" squares...on to Page 2!
