** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

First mark and cut the Color 1 and Color 2  3-7/8" x 7-3/4" strips into two 3-7/8" squares of each. Stack these and cut on the diagonal once to make four half square triangles of each...

Then mark and cut the Color 3 and Color 4  3-7/8 x 15-1/2" strips into four 3-7/8" squares of each. Stack these and cut on the diagonal once to make eight half square triangles of each...

Now mark and cut the Color 4  3-1/2" x 14" strip into four 3-1/2" squares...

Make half squares as shown at left, using all scant 1/4" seams. The numbers you need of each color combination are shown at left. Press seam allowances towards the darker fabrics...

Next make rows, in the order shown at left. Press all the seam allowances in one direction for the first row, the opposite for the second row, etc. Sew the rows together to make the block!...on to Page 2!
