Now add the Color 1 strips...shorter ones to the left and right, longer ones to the top and bottom...

The sew together four strips of ten half squares each, again pressing all seams in one direction by strip. Sew a Color 3 small square and a Color 1 small square to the ends of two half square strips. Sew the other two half square strips to the sides of the block, then sew the two strips with squares to the top and bottom... and you are done!

This quilt is three blocks by four, with a narrow Color 1 border!
