The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Lone Eagle Block! You will need to print out one copy of the two template pages per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. A Fat Quarter of each fabric will be plenty!

Once your units are paper pieced, join them as shown at left! If desired, you can use the Star provided on Template B to cut out starts to appliqué on the wings! Be sure to add the 1/4" seam allowances to the star template!...and Have fun! 

Here are four blocks by five, with narrow sashing rows between the vertical rows of blocks... a nice and easy kids quilt, for the little guy in your life!
