The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Lacy Lattice Work Block! You will need to print out four copies of the template page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. You will also need one 2-1/2" center square. Fat quarters will be fine!

After your four units are paper pieced sew the small center square right sides together to the upper left corner of one PP unit. Start sewing at the top edge of the square and stop 1/4" from the lower square edge. Backstitch here. Press seam towards block...

Now, working counter clockwise, add another PP unit to the top, again pressing seam towards newest block addition...

Add another PP unit to the left...on to Page 2!
