This makes a 6" block, and is Paper Pieced!

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Paper Piecing Practice Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try an Iowa Star! You will need to print out one copy of each of the three units needed per block you want to make on very lightweight paper.  I suggest that you leave the paper on the units until the whole block is pieced, for stability. :o) A Fat Quarter of each fabric should be plenty!

After you have the units done, sew them together as shown at left.  Now remove the paper!

The quilt shown here would be very small!...about 28" x 34"...but you can see from it what a block to block construction will yield!
