This makes a 14 " block!...great for beginners with some seam matching experience under their belts...a new block, but with an old time-y feel! :o)

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** 

Start by marking and cutting the Color 1  2-1/2" x 5" strip into two 2-1/2" squares. Mark and cut the Color 1  2-1/2" x 9" strip into two 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles. Mark and cut the Color 1  2-1/2" x 13" strip into two  2-1/2" x 6-1/2"rectangles...

 Now mark and cut the Color 2   2-1/2" x 20" strip into eight 2-1/2" squares...

Then mark and cut the Color 4  2-1/2" x 15" strip into six 2-1/2" squares. Mark and cut the Color 4  5" x 18" strip into eight 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles. Mark and cut the Color 4  2-1/2" x 13" strip into two 2-1/2" x 6-1/2"rectangles...

 Now, using all scant 1/4" seams, sew the seven horizontal rows shown at left. Press all seams towards the darker fabric. Sew the rows together, and you are done! Good Job!!
