The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Double Star Block! You will need to print out two copies of the template A page, and one copy of the other two templates pages per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. You will also need four 2-1/2" squares of white for the block's corner units. Fat quarters will be fine for this!

After your paper piecing is done, sew the 2-1/2" squares to the ends of two side units. Press seams towards side units. Join the three middle sections to make the block's center. Sew plain side sections to the center unit. Press seams to the outside. Now just join the top row, middle row, and bottom row and it is done!

Shown here on its side, the quilt is four blocks by five, with alternate blocks done with blocks and colors reversed!

Happy Quilting Folks!
