Sew a Color 2 half square triangle to the bottom of a half square, using a SCANT 1/4" seam. Sew another half square triangle to the adjacent side. Press seams towards half square. Make two of these units...

To each of them, sew a Color 1 large half square triangle. Press seam allowance towards the large triangle...

Sew a Color 2  3-1/2" square to the side of a half square. Make four of these. Sew pairs together to make two four patch units...

Now piece the block, by sewing a four patch unit to a large triangle unit, twice. Join these to make rows!

This quilt has thin sashing between the blocks, a thin border of Color1, and then a pieced border made from cut out motifs of Color 1...neat!
