This makes a 12" block, and is regular piecing, plus uses one regular template :o)

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Start by cutting each of the Color 1, 2, 3 and 4   4-7/8" squares once on the diagonal to make two half square triangles of each. Mark and cut the Color 6  4-7/8" x 9-3/4" strip into two 4-7/8" squares. Stack these squares and cut them once on the diagonal to make four half square triangles...

Using the template provided, cut four Color 6 quarter square triangles...

...and cut one each from Colors 1, 2, 3 and 4...

Sew one of each of the Color 1, 2, 3 and 4  half square triangles to a Color 6 half square triangle, using a SCANT 1/4" seam, and pressing the seam allowance towards the darker fabric...

Then sew each of the Color 1, 2, 3 and 4 quarter square triangles to a Color 6 quarter square triangle, again pressing the seams towards the darker fabric...on to Page 2!
