Once your paper piecing of the blocks is complete, sew them together in rows of three. Join the rows to complete the center of the quilt... |

Now cut the Color 2 and Color 4 5-7/8" x 11-3/4" strips into two 5-7/8" squares of each. Stack the squares and cut once on the diagonal to make four half square triangles of each color... |

Sew the half square triangles right sides together using a scant 1/4" seam. Press to dark side. Make four of these. Trim to measure 5-1/2" if needed... |

Now paper piece twenty-four trees. Join the trees into four rows of six trees each. Sew half squares to the ends of two tree rows. with Color 4 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" strips as spacers. (one row will be oriented as shown at top left, the other needs the green sides of the half squares on the bottom-outside!) |

Sew the Color 4 1-1/2" x 24-1/2" strips to the left and right of the center block unit. Add tree rows to the left and right of that as shown at left...on to Page 3! |
