Next sew Color 3 and Color 5 quarter square triangles together to make two pieced triangles like those shown at top left. Press seams to darker sides then sew on a Color 1 half square triangle to each. (Repeat this to make two of the units shown at lower left, which use Color 1 and 5 quarter square triangles and Color 3 half square triangles instead)... |

Now lay out all units as shown at left. Sew three horizontal rows. Join the rows and your Checkerblock Star is complete! |
