Here's a country charmer, done in good muslin and homespun :o)

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

First mark and cut the Color 1  5-1/4" x 15-3/4" strip into three 5-1/4" squares. Then stack and cut these three squares on the diagonal to make six triangles. Stack and cut the triangles again on the other diagonal to make twelve quarter square triangles...

Repeat the above procedure with the Color 2  5-1/4" x 15-3/4" strip...

Now strip piece the two side units by sewing a Color 2  1-7/8" x 9" strip to a Color 1  1-7/8" x 9" strip, right sides together,  along one long edge, using a 1/4" seam. Then add another Color 1 strip to the other side of the Color 2 strip. Press seam allowances towards the darker fabrics. Mark and cut this three strip unit at the 4-1/2" point. Square these units back to 4-1/2" squares, if needed.......on to Page 2!
