This makes a 6" block !

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** 

Cut the Color 1  2-1/2" x 10" strip into four 2-1/2" squares...

Then cut the Color 2  5" x 6-1/2" rectangle into two 2-1/2" x 6-1/2" rectangles...

Too make the side units, place a Color 1 square right sides together atop the left and right ends of a Color 2 rectangle, with outer edges aligned.( I show them staggered here just so you can see what fabric pieces I mean) On the back of the squares lightly mark the diagonal. Sew ON this diagonal marking. Cut off the excess seam allowance. Press the remainder towards the triangle. Make two of these. They should measure 2-1/2" x 6-1/2" when completed...

Now lay out all units as shown at left. Stitch together using a scant 1/4" seam. Press seams to center, and you are all done! Nice and Easy! :o) ...now on to Page 2!
