This makes a 12" block!

** Preparing the Pieces **

Mark and cut the Color 4  3 7/8" square on the diagonal to make two half square triangles...

Then mark and cut the Color 5 strip into two 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" rectangles...

 

Next speed piece the half squares by stacking the Color 1 and Color 2  3 7/8" x 7 3/4" strips, right sides together. On the back of the top strip, lightly mark the diagonals, and mark the 3 7/8" square line. Now sew 1/4" above the marked diagonals, pivoting at the square line. Sew back on the other side of the marked diagonals, and cut apart ON the marked diagonals and on the square line to give you four half squares. Press seams towards the darker fabrics... now...

** Let's Get to the Sewing **

 

Sew a half square to the Color 1  3 1/2" square along one side, right sides together, using a 1/4" seam. Press seam allowance towards the square, then add another half square to the first, and press that seam allowance towards the outer half square...

Next sew the remaining two half squares one atop the other. Press seam towards the lower half square...on to Page 2
