This makes a 12" block and is paper pieced !

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Brother Bear/Sister Sun block! You will need to print out 2 copies of the template pages per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. You also need 4  2-1/2" brown squares. Fat Quarters will be fine!

After paper piecing all units join unit A's to unit B's, to make two, and two reversed. Join the 4 brown squares, and the unit D's and E to make the block's center. Add unit C's to the sides of the center unit. Add corner units to the ends of the remaining unit C's, and sew those to the block to complete it!
