This makes a 12" block!

** Preparing the Pieces **

Start by cutting the Color 1 rectangle into sixteen 2" squares...

Next, cut the Color 3 rectangle into eight  2" x 3-1/2" rectangles...

Then, cut the Color 4   2" x 8" strip into four 2" squares...

Now cut the Color 4   4" x 20" rectangle into eight 2" x 5" rectangles...

Next, sew the Color 2 and Color 4 2" x 16" strips together along one long edge, right sides together, sewing with a scant 1/4" seam. Press seam allowance towards darker fabric .Mark this combo at 2" intervals, and cut into eight segments, as shown ...now...

** Let's Get to the Sewing **

 

 

To begin, sew two of the combo units right sides together, using a scant 1/4" seam. Make four of these four patch squares. Trim to a 3-1/2" square if needed...

 

 

Then, sew a Color 4   2" square to one end of a Color 3 rectangle, right sides together and using the same scant  1/4" seam. Press seam allowance towards the darker fabric. Make four of these...on to Page 2!
