** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Start by cutting the Color 1  3-1/2" x 14" strip into four 3-1/2" squares. Then use the REG template provided to cut eight units from the Color 1  5" x 15" strip...

Next cut the Color 2  1-1/2" x 10" strip into four 1-1/2" squares...

Now use the other new regular template you made to cut four shapes from the Color 3  5" x 13" strip...

Using a scant 1/4" seam allowance sew one of each orientation Color 1 template shape to each Color 3 template shape...

Then, place a Color 2 small square right sides together atop a Color 1 square, with outer edges aligned. On the back of the top square lightly mark the diagonal. Sew on this diagonal marking. Cut off the excess seam allowance. Press the remainder towards the corner. Make four units like this...on to Page 2!
