This makes an 12" block!

I was actually going to rename this one to "Joe's Windows", as my love, the engineer, is helping me draw out my first printable pattern pieces!

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

 

Cut the Color 1 strip into four 3-1/2" squares...

Lay your trapezoidal pattern piece on the right side of the Color 2 fabric strip, unfolded to a single layer, as shown, mark and cut with rotary cutter...

Repeat this for the Color 3 strip...note they are cut in reverse...

With fabric marker lightly mark point 1/4" from corner of Color 1 square. Mark 1/4" from inside miter of trapezoid Color 3 as well, as shown. Sew, using a scant 1/4"seam from the corner TO the marked point, and backstitch to secure this seam. Press seam towards center...
