** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Start by cutting the Color 1  2-1/2" x 10" strip into four 2-1/2" squares...

Then cut the Color 1  2-7/8" x 34-1/2" strip into twelve 2-7/8" squares...

Now cut the Color 2  2-1/2" x 20" strip into eight 2-1/2" squares...

Cut the Color 2  2-7/8" x 5-3/4" strip into two 2-7/8" squares...

Next cut the Color 3  2-7/8" x 28-3/4" strip into ten 2-7/8" squares...

Pair each of the Color 3  2-7/8" squares with a Color 1  2-7/8" square, right sides together and all edges aligned. On the back of the top square lightly mark the diagonal, then sew a scant 1/4" away from each side of the drawn line. Cut this apart ON the drawn line to get two Half Square units. Trim to measure 2-1/2" if needed. Make a total of twenty Half Squares in this color combination...

In the same manner, use the two remaining Color 1  2-7/8" squares and the two Color 2  2-7/8" squares to make four more Half Square units in that color combo...on to Page 2!
